Life on a Low Income
Posted on Monday, May 19 @ 00:00:00 PDT by Judith

research 'The Life on a Low Income project is a three year study about the experiences of Australians living on low incomes.  The project emerged from concerns about the current direction of welfare reform and a general lack of information about people's experiences of it.  Participants are invited to tell their story and share their views of welfare and work, which will be used to inform policy discussions and debates.

Face-to-face interviews will be conducted with 150 people living on low incomes from a diverse range of backgrounds including those unemployed or in transient low-paid employment, sole mothers, individuals living with a disability as well as those in receipt of a carers payment.' ...

'Participation involves an initial confidential interview of approximately one and a half hours and a follow-up interview 12 months later.'  For more information see www.disabilitynews.infoxchange.net.au/news/detail.chtml?filename_num=205833.
