Interested in an alternative treatment for symptoms of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder? The Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (APRC) is currently seeking adult participants for a new research trial involving the use of an experimental treatment; transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). The APRC is interested in exploring whether tDCS may improve the range of symptoms of schizophrenia including low motivation, reduced energy, difficulties with concentration and remembering things, hearing voices and confused thoughts....
The APRC is currently recruiting individuals with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder who experience these symptoms and who have not responded to medication. The research trial involves daily treatment sessions for a period of three to six weeks in addition to fortnightly interviews. Medication therapy is permitted to continue during the trial.
